Collection of Political Autographs, Historical Stamps & American Ephemera. Includes a remarkable binder containing approximately forty-two signed documents bearing the signatures of prominent American political figures spanning the mid-to-late twentieth century. Signatories include President John F. Kennedy, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, President George H.W. Bush, Senator Joseph McCarthy, Senator George D. Aiken of Vermont, and Civil Rights leader and Chairman Julian Bond, among others. Each document is addressed to a distinct recipient, lending the collection variety across different occasions, offices, and correspondence types. Accompanying the documents are five pages of vintage American postage stamps, including a page of Abraham Lincoln commemoratives and an Exploring the Moon USA 18¢ issue. The lot is further distinguished with a catalog from the Seven Gable Bookshop (3 West 46th Street, New York 19, NY), a noted antiquarian bookseller, offering works by and relating to Edgar Allan Poe.
