Two engraved portraits of Jane Scrimshaw, a celebrated "super centarian". One is an 18th century woodcut, the other a 19th century lithograph. Jane was the daughter of Thomas Scrimshaw, a wool stapler, and she was born in London in 1584 and still alive on the third of April, 1710 at 126 years of age! Overall: small is H 8 in W 6 in. large is H 10 in. W 6-1/2 in.
One framed Familty Register for Liberty Wright Born May 30, 1778 and his wife, Betsey Blanchard, born March 23, 1778, and the list of their choildren born between 1804 and 1821. This printed register is attributed to Richard Brunton (his initials, RB are reported to be found at the bottom left which is obscured or absent in this example). A similar example was listed in the Skinner Sale #1676, October, 1995 @ $1200-$1800. Overall: H 10-3/4 in. W 8-1/2 in.
A framed silhouette (hollow cut) and a fine paper cut image of Mrs. J. Moore of Shrewsbury (Marlboro) [Mass.] 1840. In a contemporary veneered frame. With a card that says these items were taken from Sally Thompson's Commonplace Album AD 1830. So perhaps one is of Sally and one is of Mrs. Moore? The whole was framed as a gift in 1986. Overall: H 9 in. W 11 in.
