Large group of antique medical instruments, surgical supplies and three copperplate engraved printing blocks depicting medical study/educational images. Medical instruments include an engraved doctor's case with kit, a doctor head mirror by Standard S.J.Co (Germany), caponizing tools, and approximately 15 surgical instruments. Lot additionally contains approx. 60 pieces of vintage surgical supplies from various American and German manufacturers including sterile surgical gut and needle vials/tubes, Anestube rustless steel needles, Johnson & Johnson white braid silk sutures kit with small tubes, rustless hypodermic needles, and a complete suture kit featuring: braided silk, twisted silk, surgical horsehair, catgut on atraumatic needles, and silkworm gut in tubes marked 'Med. Dept. U.S. Navy'. Continental, early to mid-20th century.

Condition

Overall condition ranges from good to excellent, sold as-is for collection or study. All suture tubes are intact with sterilization liquid. Caution: Lot contains antique hypodermic needles and medical sharps, some potentially loose or exposed. Handle with care. Buyer responsible for safe handling.

Shipping/Pickup

Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction.
