Allen Van Hoecke (Belgian/American, 1892–1970), Carved miniature folk monument. Carved wood with original finish. Features a bird with "PEACE" incised to a banner atop finial, a block section decorated with hearts and crosses inscribed, "IN GOD WE TRUST", a barley-twist design to lower section, and relief-carved birds on the side panels at the base, one bearing the maker's inscription, "ALLEN. VAN. HOECKE. / CHEHALIS. WN." A pencil inscription to the base reads, "1961. Hours of Labor / 148." Washington, 1961.
